Creating Leads

Leads are the foundation of your CRM. This guide shows you how to create and add new leads to LeadsFollow.

Ways to Create Leads

There are several ways to add leads to your system:

  1. Manual Entry - Add leads one at a time through the interface
  2. CSV Import - Bulk import leads from a spreadsheet
  3. Form Capture - Automatically capture leads from your website forms

Creating a Lead Manually

Step 1: Navigate to Leads

  1. Click "Leads" in the sidebar
  2. You'll see the leads list page

Step 2: Open the Add Lead Dialog

  1. Click the "Add Lead" button in the top right corner
  2. A dialog will open with the lead form

Step 3: Fill in Lead Information

Required Fields:

  • First Name - The lead's first name
  • Last Name - The lead's last name
  • Email - Email address (used for communications)

Optional Fields:

  • Phone - Phone number
  • Desired Destination - Where they want to travel
  • Budget - Total budget amount (single number)
  • Status - Current status (defaults to "New")
  • Source - How they found you (Website, Referral, Email, Phone, Social, Event, Other)
  • Assign To - Team member to assign this lead to

Step 4: Save the Lead

  1. Review all information
  2. Click "Create Lead"
  3. The lead will be added to your list and you'll be redirected to the lead detail page

Quick Tips

  • Start with essentials: At minimum, enter first name, last name, and email
  • Add context later: You can add notes after creating the lead using the "Log Activity" button
  • Set the right status: Choose the appropriate status from the start
  • Assign immediately: If working with a team, assign leads as you create them
  • Single budget field: Enter the total budget amount (not a range)

What Happens After Creating a Lead?

Once you create a lead:

  1. The lead appears in your leads list
  2. You're taken to the lead detail page
  3. You can immediately:
    • Add tasks
    • Log activities (calls, emails, meetings, notes) using the "Log Activity" button
    • Create trips
    • Upload files
    • Build itineraries, quotes, and invoices using the Portal tabs
    • Add notes as Activity records (type "NOTE")
